About

The 糖心原创vlog Movement Analysis Laboratory offers motion analyses, including gait assessments, to service the 糖心原创vlog region. We can provide:

  • Spatiotemporal data (e.g. cadence, stride length, walking speed)
  • Kinematic data (e.g. joint angles)
  • Kinetic data (e.g. force and joint moments)
  • Plantar pressure mapping
  • Muscle activity (surface EMG)
  • Functional strength measures (isokinetic dynamometry)

Our laboratory is equipped with state of art equipment including a 3D motion capture system, embedded force platforms, instrumented treadmill, electromyography (EMG), plantar pressure sensors and an isokinetic dynamometer. Our team have expertise in clinical, occupational, and sports biomechanics, and can tailor services to suit your individual needs.

Who might benefit from Movement Analysis?

Runners with chronic problems, individuals with diabetes-related foot issues, individuals with overuse injuries, people with gait pathologies and anyone who is looking to learn more about how they move.

How does it work?

Once we know what services you require, we will provide you with a quote specific to your needs. We will work with you to decide which assessments may be required to get the information you are interested in.

We will schedule a time for your assessment and provide you with the laboratory location. Following your assessment, a report will be created and sent to you, and if you consent, your referring clinician or coach.

Services

Duration: 45 minutes

Cost: From $200

What to bring:

  • Socks
  • Any shoes you regularly wear
  • Any orthotics you currently wear or have worn previously
  • Comfortable clothes to move around in

What to expect: With pressure sensing insoles inserted into your shoes, we will assess plantar pressure during standing, walking, running, or any other task specific to your needs.

Duration: 60 - 90 minutes

Cost: From $350

What to bring:

  • Tight fitting clothing or shorts
  • Socks
  • Any shoes you regularly wear
  • Any orthotics you currently wear or have worn previously

What to expect: Reflective markers will be attached to your torso, pelvis, legs, feet, and arms (if required) using skin specific tape. The reflective markers will then be recorded by motion capture cameras while you move around the lab. This will likely include walking and/or running, but could also include other movements specific to your needs.

Force plate data can also be collected alongside the marker data, either using our instrumented treadmill, or force plates embedded in the laboratory floor.

Duration: 60 - 90 minutes

Cost: Contact us for a quote

What to bring: Comfortable clothes that you would exercise in

What to expect: Functional strength measures can be collected using an Isokinetic Dynamometer, where joint specific assessments can be conducted through controlled ranges and speeds.

Duration: 60 - 90 minutes

Cost: Contact us for a quote

What to bring: Clothing that allows sensors to be placed on your skin where the required muscles are located

What to expect: Muscle activity can be assessed using electromyography (EMG) which requires sensors to be placed on your skin over the muscles you want to assess. Depending on your specific needs, testing may include walking, running or maximal isometric movements.
